Welcome to our latest news roundup. Exciting times lie ahead for British travellers as Spain opens its doors, PCR testing costs reduce, and holiday companies battle it out for your business.
Welcome to Spain
Spain has opened the door to UK travellers, offering zero restriction access. You WILL NOT need a test before departing the UK and WILL NOT need to quarantine on arrival.
How great is that?
But, the UK has put Spain on the amber list. This means you'll need a PCR or antigen test before leaving Spain, and you'll need to self-isolate for 10 days at home on your return. You'll need to do a PCR test on day two and eight, with the option to test and release on day five.
The cost for the antigen test required in Spain before travelling home is approximately €30 per passenger.
PCR testing costs tumble
Travel industry pressure has pushed the cost of PCR tests down. The average price of a test is now about £60.
Most airlines have partnership agreements with testing companies that offer a special price. For example, easyJet has partnered with Randox to provide tests at £60 each. You don't need to be an easyJet customer – just visit this website to get all the details and discount codes.
Some airlines have even better options if you book a holiday with them. TUI offer testing packages from £20/person if you buy a TUI holiday.
Complete testing requirements can be found on the Government website.
Holiday prices get competitive
With the added testing costs, holiday companies have slashed prices to fight for your business. There's never been a better time to book an ATOL protected package holiday. New bookings often come with added extras such as COVID cover, free changes and discounted tests.
Don't forget to buy your travel insurance immediately after booking your holiday! With our COVID add-on, you can have complete peace of mind that you're covered for all occasions.

What’s next?
Things are on the up. Confidence in the travel industry is returning. Airlines are adding more flights for 2021 by the day – most from July onwards.
The next big event will be the announcement of the updated list of green countries. The big hope is on Malta and Spain. We’ll wait and see.
